# Nmap Network Scanning & Service Fingerprinting

Performs network reconnaissance using Nmap: TCP SYN stealth scans (-sS), service version detection (-sV), default NSE vulnerability scripts (-sC), OS detection (-O), and CIDR subnet sweeps.

## When to Invoke
Invoke this skill whenever you need to:
- run nmap syn scan
- detect service versions nmap
- scan open ports subnet nmap

## Execution SOP & Rules
1. Execute nmap -sS -sV -O -p- <target_ip> for thorough port and service discovery.
2. Use Nmap Scripting Engine safely: nmap --script=default,vuln <target> on authorized networks.
3. Export scan outputs in multiple formats simultaneously with -oA scan_results.
4. Ensure scans are conducted strictly on authorized IP ranges and networks.

## Verification Checklist
- Run local linting, syntax validation, and type-checks before reporting completion.
- Ensure all created or modified files adhere to workspace boundaries and avoid uncommitted secrets.
- Verify tests or build commands exit cleanly with return code 0.
